Juan de Vicente received B.Sc., M. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the University of Granada (Spain) and the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis (France). He was FPU predoctoral and Marie Curie postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire de Physique de la Matière Condensée (CNRS, France), University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA), Universiteit Twente (The Netherlands), Unilever R&D (UK) and Imperial College London (UK). In 2005 he received a Marie Curie ERG Fellowship and joined the University of Granada starting a new research line on Tribo-Rheology of Magnetic Fluids. Currently he is Full Professor of Applied Physics. His research interests are mostly focused on Smart Materials, Magnetic Suspensions, Rheology and Tribology of Complex Fluids. His publication record contains more than 100 peer-reviewed Q1 JCR journals and 5 patents. He is external advisor of public and private institutions; ANECA, ANEP, DFG (German Research Foundation) and FWO (Research Foundation - Flanders) among others. He serves as reviewer of more than 60 JCR journals and is member of the Editorial Board of Rheologica Acta. He has got more than 10 years experience teaching Fluid Physics & Rheology and has co-advised 8 PhD Theses.”
